Accounting and Tax Executive Full Time Contract by Employer Only residing in Malta

We are currently accepting applications on behalf of our client for a full-time Accounting and Tax Executive to join their growing accounting and tax team. Key Responsibilities

• Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, including posting invoices, reconciling bank statements, and preparing accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Liaise with auditors and review financial statements under IFRS and GAPSME.
• Compile and submit VAT returns, tax returns, and tax refund claims.
• Review work prepared by junior team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Communicate with clients to gather required documentation.
• Research tax laws and assist clients with applicable tax credits.
• Respond to notices from tax authorities and liaise with relevant entities.
• Provide non-financial managers with clear financial insights.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting/Finance or ACCA qualification (or in final stages with F6 module and Maltese tax experience).
• Minimum 2 years experience in accounting and Maltese taxation.
• Experience with a Big 4 firm is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent English communication skills (C1/C2 level).
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage priorities effectively.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Professional, dependable, and a strong team player.
